A cherished memento – A custom painting makes a thoughtful, personal gift for a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion. Beth’s original watercolor painting of your family home captures the charm and character of a place you and your loved ones share.

Getting started – Beth meets with you to talk about what is special and meaningful about your home. The painting can include gardens, special trees, architectural elements, flags, and other significant details. In her studio, Beth creates an original work of art using traditional methods, not from computer-manipulated images. She develops pencil sketches and works on several versions of the painting, varying contrast, design, and color, until achieving one that most successfully represents your home.

Price – The price depends on your home's size and artistic complexity, usually running about $300-$375 for a cottage or small home, $375-$450 for a mid-size home, and $450-$550 for elaborate, grand homes. A firm price will be quoted at the first meeting, and a $25 non-refundable deposit required to begin the painting. For East Bay locations, travel time is included; for San Francisco, there’s a one-time $25 travel fee. For most East Bay commissions, Beth can deliver the artwork at no additional charge. Shipping and handling are extra, if required.

What you receive – An original painting with a neutral-tone, acid-free archival matte that fits a frame of 11 x 14 inches or 16 x 20 inches (frame not included). A handwritten gift card is optional. Beth uses archival-quality paints and paper. Properly framed and protected from direct exposure to harsh sunlight, a watercolor will last a lifetime and beyond, to become a family keepsake.

Satisfaction guaranteed – A non-refundable deposit of $25 required before work begins. However, there is no obligation to purchase the final work if it’s not to your liking.
